  Have wanted to visit the gravesite of "Uncle" Sam Wilson for awhile now. Lived in the area most of my life and had never been. Cemetery is well kept. We followed the markers right to his resting place, and viewed beautiful mausoleums and marker stones along the way. My friend kept saying, "we have GOT to spend more time here!" Got a little lost trying to find our way out, but it was a pleasant and peaceful afternoon outing.

  Walk the grounds often, just an amazing piece of history. Beautiful buildings and plenty of wildlife to see. Always finding something new.

  Its, a beautiful place to walk through! I love it! Very historic if you like history and stuff uncle Sam was buried here at oakwood cemetery so if you like history or just like taking beautiful walks and enjoy good scenery I would definitely recommend going! Warning Just don't go at night because new york state law says it's illegal to go to any cemetery in New York State after dark if they catch you you might get arrested for trespassing! But during the day enjoy a beautiful historical walk! :)

  Amazing bike ride. Uncle Sam was buried here. I remember one time in December i came here alone on my bike at around 2 if the afternoon. It started snowing and i was so happy since we hadn't gotten snow yet and its was getting close to Christmas. My bike on the other hand didn't have as much fun. I slid around a few times almost crashing. Snapped a picture of they great view of Troy and the Lansingburgh High School.

  Beautiful, historic Oakwood Cemetery!! Great for walking, exploring/learning about local history. Resting place of Troy's very own Uncle Sam!
